People often ask me why I became a yoga teacher. It wasn’t because I wanted to teach yoga. It was because one day, through movement, I met a version of myself I didn’t know existed.
I found strength I didn’t know I had. Confidence I hadn’t yet discovered. A sense of purpose I couldn’t ignore. Once you’ve experienced that, you can’t help but want others to experience it too.
So I taught. And something remarkable happened. The people I trained didn’t just learn to lead classes. They found things inside themselves they didn’t know were there either.
That’s what Sekond Skin Society is built on. The tragedy isn’t that people with disabilities can’t experience that transformation. It’s that too often, they’ve never been given the opportunity.
Most fitness professionals began teaching because movement transformed something within them. Sekond Skin Society exists to help them extend that gift to the millions of people living with disability who have too often been excluded from experiencing that same transformation. Through our certification, our app, and our community, we equip instructors to create spaces where every person can discover what movement can awaken in them. Because movement isn’t about exercise. It’s about possibility.
